Today I feel the terror of the world. Our politicians in the UK are about to vote in parliament on May’s brexit deal. And it will likely be defeated. A deal which would have left us tied to the EU will be knocked back. In turn, they are threatening to either keep us in or make us vote again.
This is how the elite treat plebs who have the temerity to think for themselves. We voted to leave, but they won’t let us. Not in any meanful sense anyway.
It is much the same in the corporate world. Earlier in a meeting a manager asked what the company’s position was on brexit. The CEO said he didn’t know. He only knew how he voted, and that – he said with a smile – was to remain. They’ll probably put a stop to it all, he added. And the boardroom dissolved into laugher. They could hardly control themselves.
Like I say, today I feel the terror of the world.
My heart goes out to you and your countrymen Marcello. They took away your guns decades ago and it has been a slow and steady creep ever since.
